NOTES: The Junior Equestrian team is open to all BAS students in grades 5 through 8. All interested team members are accepted and it is required that each team member be in a riding training program. Dependent upon riding experience, team members will be slotted as a Rider or Groom for the single-day District 1 Meet at the Huron Valley Equestrian Center at Milford High School on Saturday, June 20, 2025. Horses are not provided by BAS and must be privately owned, leased or borrowed. Good afternoon Scranton Parents and Guardians, 

As we get ready for Scranton volleyball tryouts, we wanted to provide more information about what to expect. 

Tryouts will be August 25, 26, & 27th. 7th Grade tryouts will be from 4:30 - 6pm.  Check in will begin at 4 pm and girls can begin warming up after that. Make sure you arrive early so we can run check in as smoothly as possible. 8th grade tryouts will be the same days from 6 - 7:30 pm with check in starting at 5:30. This is a drop off event with no spectators allowed.

Please have your athlete wear a shirt with a number on the front or back. THEY WILL WEAR THE SAME SHIRT ALL 3 DAYS OF TRYOUTS. This will make it easier for the coaches to evaluate the players and allow for consistency during tryouts. Please make sure that your athlete also has knee pads and plenty of water to drink.  No other equipment is required.

7th and 8th grade volleyball will consist of 2 teams each (Orange and Black). Talent will be spread evenly across both teams. Unfortunately given the large number of athletes trying out for the two teams, there will have to be cuts. These will occur on the final night of tryouts and each girl will be notified before they leave if they have been placed on a team or not. If your player is selected for a team, the first official day of practice will be September 2nd after school starts.

Please be aware that practices and games will be Monday through Thursday until October 15th. Practices will either be 3-4:30pm or 4:30-6pm Tuesday/Thursday depending on your team placement.  Games will start the week of September 15th and will be on Monday/Wednesday with 7th grade playing at 4pm and 8th grade starting at 5 pm.  Bussing will be provided to the away games, but parents must provide/arrange rides home. Commitment is required, so please take this into consideration prior to your student athlete trying out.  Parent meetings will be after practice on Wednesday, September 3rd and team pictures will be Friday September 5th.

We still have several athletes that have not completed final forms. These need to be completed before the player can participate in tryouts NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Please take a moment to log in to Final Forms to verify that everything is complete. (all green and no red action items)
