Brighton High School Athletic Training: Brighton High School has a rich and proud tradition of athletic training. Brighton has had an athletic trainer for 35 years, starting in the fall of 1974 and continuing to today. Today, Brighton has a trainer providing medical coverage for all seasons and all athletic teams. Brighton has also had a proud tradition of having student trainers and that tradition continues today with six student trainers providing help to the athlete population.

Information About Certified Athletic Trainers: Athletic Training is centered on providing health care for the physically active population. Athletic Trainers' are highly educated professionals who specialize in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured athletes.
  • Certified athletic trainers hold a bachelor's or master's degree with a major in athletic training and are focused on injury prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. ATC's are required to pursue continuing education to retain their certification.

  • ATC's should not be confused with personal trainers, who are focused primarily on physical conditioning and fitness.

  • Certified athletic trainers can be found in sports settings and also in the performing arts, corporations, military, schools, clinics, hospitals, and other health care facilities.
