  • 74% of all high school students who participated in athletics were scholar athletes (3.0 GPA or higher during the season in which they participated).
  • 2 of the 3 BHS Valedictorians & 37 of the top 50 (74%) of Brighton High Schools graduates were student athletes during HS.
  • 998 students participated in at least one HS sport or 50 % of BHS population.
Fall
  • Boys Cross Country - State Finals Team Qualifier, 9th in MI.
  • Girls Cross Country – State Finals Team Qualifier, 16th in MI, KLAA West Division Co-Champions.
  • Girls Golf – State Finals Team Qualifier, 12th in MI., KLAA West Division & Lakes Conference Champions.
  • Equestrian – State Finals Team Qualifier & Regional Division B Reserve Champions.
  • Football – State Play-off Qualifier.
  • Boys Soccer – MHSAA District Champions & KLAA West Division, Lakes Conference & Association Champions.
  • Girl’s Swim – KLAA West Division Co-Champions, 10 State Qualifiers, Team Finished 8th in MI & Senior Morgan Zebley won the State Championship in the Butterfly & was 1 of 6 female athletes of the year finalists.
  • Volleyball – MHSAA District Champions & KLAA West Champions.
Winter
  • Girls Bowling – State Finals Team Qualifier, Finished 14th in MI.
  • Boys Basketball – KLAA West Division Champions; 17-3.
  • Competitive Cheer – MHSAA Regional Qualifier.
  • Gymnastics – MHSAA Team State qualifier, finished 5th in MI., 5 Individual State Qualifiers.
  • Hockey – Finished as the 7th Ranked Division 1 Team In MI.
  • Pom – 1st Place Contemporary team at the Dance and High Kick Championships & 1st place in Hip-Hop.
  • Girls Ski – State Finals Team Qualifier, Finished 8th in MI.
  • Boys Ski – State Finals Team Qualifier, Finished 9th in MI.
  • Boy’s Swim – 8 State Qualifiers.
  • Wrestling – MHSAA Team District, Regional Champions & State Finals Final 4 Qualifier & KLAA. Tournament Champions, 10 Individual State Qualifiers, Head Coach Mr. Sam Amine, Div. 1 Coach of the Year.
Spring
  • Boys Lacrosse – KLAA Lakes Conference Champions.
  • Girls Lacrosse – MHSAA Regional Champions and State Champions, KLAA Lakes Conference Champions.
  • Girls Soccer – KLAA West Division and Lakes Conference Champions.
  • Track & Field –Girls: 5 State Qualifiers, Boys: 6 State Qualifiers.
Playing at the next level: 28 Senior Student Athletes will be continuing their athletic careers in college.

State Wide Recognition: BAS Director of Athletics, Mr. John Thompson was recognized as the South East Michigan Athletic Director of the Year and also was selected to serve on the MHSAA Board of Directors.
